Guardian Industries raised some major root

IMG_4603The Guardian Angels of Guardian Industries helped Forgotten Harvest fight hunger by getting to “The Root” of the problem! For two weeks in March, employees at Guardian Industries hosted a hearty vegetable drive and donated potatoes, carrots, parsnips, squash and turnips. The generous employees donated over 27,000 lbs. of vegetables and Guardian Industries matched every pound donated with $1 – bringing the total impact to $26,600! The donation will help provide 133,000 meals PLUS all the fresh, healthy veggies will make a huge impact to those in need. Continue reading

Young Professionals Making an Impact

Priority Health Fuels the Fight against Hunger

Priority HealthForgotten Harvest is launching a new corporate giving program called, Fuel the Fight against Hunger! We are pleased to announce the first company teaming up with us on this initiative is Priority Health. The Michigan-based health plan is taking their mission of ‘improving the health and lives of our neighbors’ one step further by partnering with Forgotten Harvest. Through this program, Priority Health will sponsor the fuel cost for one Forgotten Harvest truck for the next 18 months – to deliver fresh, healthy food to families in need 6 days a week throughout metro Detroit. In supporting one cost associated with the pickup and distribution of healthy food items to families struggling with food insecurity and hunger, Priority Health is making strides in impacting population health in the Southeast Michigan community – with special focus on the at-risk and underserved.
